Tit Lithium-Ion Battery Safety: Risks, Trends, and Solutions
Description: UL Standards & Engagement will present an overview of the risks, hazards, and emerging trends surrounding lithium-ion batteries, drawing on research into consumer awareness, behaviors, and usage patterns. The session will highlight key safety challenges, including fire hazards, and outline how ULSE is working to mitigate these risks through standards development, education, and collaborative initiatives.
Speaker Introductions:
Sayon Deb is Director of Primary Insights at UL Standards & Engagement and leads the organization’s quantitative research and insights initiatives that track emerging trends in safety, security, and sustainability. Sayon has 13+ years of experience in leading research projects across a wide range of organizations.
Wil Fletcher is a Principal Standards Engineer at UL Standards & Engagement, where he leads technical development of fire safety-related ULSE standards and provides technical support on fire protection topics. His extensive background spans more than 10 years as a career firefighter and over 20 years of combined paid and volunteer service, during which he advanced to the rank of chief officer.
A social hour will be held between 5pm and 6pm.
